If you have ever tried finding a Christmas present for a married couple you’ll know how hard it is to come up with an idea that both will enjoy. Quite often, you end up choosing food or drink gifts which are great – for the half an hour that they last.
A newlywed couple could still be clinging onto details and memories of their special day, a gift that helps them reminisce could score you some major friendship points with them!
If your couple are still engaged, many of these gift ideas will double up as a way of boosting their excitement for their special day too!

Christmas Gifts for Married Couples
Newlywed couples will love a Christmas gift (or even an anniversary gift) that reminds them of their special day.
This is one of my favourite gift ideas in this whole post.
A tiny replica of the couple’s wedding cake. Best of all, it has zero calories and will last forever! It’s perfect if the newlywed couple had a spectacular cake that they’d like to remember forever.
Afternoon tea at the wedding venue
We received this as a gift one year and it was so special to go back and remember the emotions that were felt there on our wedding day.
Looking for something sentimental to have on display? How about a personalised wedding day box frame?
Or a cute way to save those extra pennies for nearly-weds:
How about a bespoke portrait of the couple’s wedding day? This would make a heartwarming gift for any married couple. Plus, with the option to add kids and pets, no one gets left out!
Give the gift of some quality time together. Once the wedding and the honeymoon are over with, everyday life can take over. Give the happy couple a little time out to enjoy each other’s company and talk about things other than which load of washing needs to go in next.
Not into spas? Help them to create unique together…

Christmas Gifts for the Home
How many of you have played with an Amazon echo? Every couple should have one. As well as being great fun, they’re a great way to set reminders for appointments, order a pizza, play a song that you have in your head or send a message to someone all without leaving your chair!
It’s getting cold out there. Surprise the married couple with matching hoodies
I wanted to avoid too many home gifts as it’s likely that a married couple have spent years making their home as they want it but a house isn’t a home until it has a coffee machine!
Or perhaps a nice matching mug set for them to enjoy their coffee from;
If you want to buy something that you can’t really get wrong, opt for a nice photo frame. Everyone loves a photo frame. The recipients can then chose which photos to have on display and can enjoy looking back at special memories.
Or, treat your newlyweds to a new, posh bed set;
Big Night In Gift Ideas for Couples
If the married couple enjoy a night in, but still like to have some fun; how about a game that celebrates their commitment to one another? (as well as their differences!).
Or are they more into their films? Why not create a personalised at-home movie night?
Then, fill it with their favourite treats. Include a dvd, some popcorn and a bottle of wine and it’s a guaranteed winner! Plus you will get bonus points for coming up with something so thoughtful. Don’t worry, I will let you take the credit ;).
Hobby Gifts for Couples
Another option would be to treat the couple to a new hobby that they can enjoy together.
- Dance classes
- Art supplies
- Gym passes
- Camping gear
- Movie subscriptions (or maybe a Netflix subscription)
- Yoga for couples
Something a little unfamiliar to them both would be the most fun!
Of course, if you’re feeling really generous (or happen to have just won the lottery), I think a hot tub is the way to go. Though do let me know what time the party starts, I will have my bikini at the ready!
What will you give at Christmas? I’d love to hear your ideas for a special couple. Leave me a comment and let me know. I will keep adding ideas as they’re suggested so no married couple ever has to receive their 3rd toaster in one year!
