The toilet roll wedding dress
Grab your girlies and a shed load of toilet rolls and get read for fits of laughter with this one! Divide your party into several groups (3-4 people per group). Each group has 5 toilet rolls, sellotape, scissors and any extra embellishments that you’ve picked up (sequins/feathers/flowers etc). Set the timer for 5 minutes and each group has to frantically design a catwalk-worthy dress on to one of the girls. The bride-to-be gets to choose the winner after the dresses are presented to her along with their reasons for why their dress is the best!
This game was submitted by Lace Sixpence Weddings & Events – a full service creative wedding and event planning business, ready to look after every element of your day (hen party included!).
Ready, Steady, Cocktail!
Each hen is blindfolded and given several cocktail ingredients to try, if she correctly guesses the ingredient, she gets to use it in her cocktail. Some ingredients are delicious, others are horrible. Have your cameras at the ready, you’ll catch some interesting expressions during this game!
This game was submitted by Benchmark Bartending, a mobile cocktail bar service who will get all the girls involved in some fun drinking games, or just keep the cocktails flowing for a big night in!
Do you dare?
If your hen party is heading out to the pubs and clubs, grab this pack of 50 fun (and naughty) dare cards.
Will your hen party have what it takes to give it a go? Or will you chicken out and have to buy the group a shot?
How well do you know the bride?
Don’t forget to write your name at the top! This will prove who really knows the bride well and who came along for the free wine!
Make up Emergency
Oh no! You woke up late on your wedding day! It’s ok, you can apply your makeup in the car on the way to the church. But wait, you forgot a mirror!!
Each girl gets 5 minutes to apply as much makeup as they want – without a mirror! The bride-to-be will decide the winner.
Guess the hen
Bring plenty of paper and coloured pencils to the hen party. Put all of the girl’s names in a jar and each girl picks a name at random. You then have 10 minutes to draw that person as best you can. After you have all laughed and giggled whilst working out who is who, be sure to sign the picture of you along with a short message for the bride to keep as a memento!
If I didn’t have your attention before,I have now haven’t I?
Each player takes it in turn to throw a ping-pong ball into one of your opponent’s cups. If the ball lands in the cup, your opponent drinks whatever is left in the cup. The winner is whoever makes their opponents drink all their cups first. Who will be last player standing?

Drink If… Drinking Game
A nice and simple one for drinking hen parties. All hens start with a full glass of your favourite drink in their hand (or lots of shots lined up). Take it in turns of saying a ‘drink if’ question and all have a large sip if you’re guilty.
Example questions (if writing your own)
- Drink if you’ve ever been caught up to no good with your partner
- Drink if you’ve ever pulled a sicky at work
- Drink if you’ve ever lied to your partner about the cost of a new piece of clothing
Hen Party Photo Booth
Less of a game but still a super fun idea for your hen party. Grab a load of props and a fun selfie frame and get snapping some hilarious shots to show off to the social media world.
Hen Party Charades
Another way to test your knowledge of the Bride-to-be. Give the bride 5 minutes to write down a film per group (2-3 in a group). One of the films will be the bride’s favourite film. Each group has to act out their film to the group. Once all films have been guessed, each group will guess which they think is the bride’s favourite film. The winning group wins a chocolate each! You can play this game for various topics, films, songs, school topics etc.
Hen party games are always a great ice-breaker, especially when there are a lot of girls who haven’t met before. Just bare in mind the day is about the bride so even if one of the ideas may not be your cup of tea, join in where you can, let your hair down and help create some long-lasting fond memories for the all important bride-to-be! If you’re the bridesmaid or friend hosting the hen party, don’t stress! Grab yourself a personalised hen party banner, ask the girls to bring a bottle each, choose a few games off this list and you’re bound to create a night that will keep everyone giggling into the early hours!
Bonus tip for you from expert bridesmaid blogger Theresa Bailey of Bridesmaids Confession.
“When planning a bachelorette or hen party, make sure you plan around the bride and what she likes. The night is all about celebrating the bride and showing her an amazing time. As her bridesmaids, you know exactly what she is into so it should be easy to come up with a theme. Planning around the bride’s interests guarantees a successful event you’ll laugh about for years to come.”
